After serving for 42 years at Bishop Montgomery High School, Ms. Christine Collette announced her retirement this summer.
Ms. Collette arrived at BMHS in 1978 and was one of the longest-tenured teachers in BMHS history. Through the years, she taught thousands of students and served in numerous capacities. In the classroom, she taught Physical Education, Typing, Health, Driver’s Education, Geography, and World History & Cultures. Students who had her as a teacher mostly likely recall her classroom, Room 214, adorned with photos and newspaper clippings of her beloved USC.
During her tenure, she also served as Girls’ Athletic Director, Drill Team Moderator, Girls’ Dean, and Head Softball Coach. From 1978-1990 as softball coach, she led the team to three league titles and four CIF playoff appearances. Her 1984 team went 23-1, with their only loss coming in the playoffs.
We wish Ms. Collette a very happy retirement and thank her for serving Bishop Montgomery High School and its students for over four decades.
