It’s a small world. After graduating from BMHS and heading off to different colleges, Danielle Ireland ’15 and Samantha Nishimura ’15 will now be attending Drexel Medical School in Philadelphia. Ireland received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and Nishimura received her degree from USC.


Christopher Arce ’17 graduated in May from the United States Air Force Academy with a BS in Behavioral Sciences and he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He will have a casual assignment for a year at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst before heading off to pilot training.


Emilie Bero ’17 graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Creative Writing.


Nnena Nadozie ’17, a senior at San Diego State, was named to the All-Mountain West tennis team. Nadozie made the all-singles squad for the third consecutive season and made the all-doubles team for the second time.


Peter Rocca ’17, a film student at UCSB, produced the documentary, Unfiltered: California’s Rural Water Crisis, to shed light on the water crisis in California’s Central Valley. “The residents don’t have access to water and their voices must be heard,” says Rocca. “We hope that this documentary will shed light on to the situation that underrepresented Californians face.”

Jordan Schakel ’17, left, was named 2nd Team All-Mountain West Conference and led San Diego State to a conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Ethan Thompson ’17, right, was named 1st Team All-Pac-12 and led Oregon State to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and was named to the Midwest regional all-tournament team. This summer, both Schakel and Thompson played in the NBA Summer League. Schakel played with Golden State and Sacramento; Thompson played for Chicago. Following the summer league, they both signed NBA Exhibit 10 Contracts and will be invited to training camp. Schakel signed with the Washington Wizards and Thompson signed with the Chicago Bulls.


Kayla Williams ’19 was named 1st Team All-Big West Conference and Big West Conference Freshman of the Year for UC Irvine. She led the Anteaters in scoring, assists, steals and minutes played and finished 13th in the nation in scoring by a freshmen.
