In each issue of Veritas Magazine, we highlight some of the amazing accomplishments, accolades, and milestones of students, alumni, faculty and parents. We have all experienced unprecedented, and at times, difficult days for over a year now, but we have remained strong and resilient and we continue to grow in our mission to provide an exceptional education to the young men and women of Bishop Montgomery.

We are all about community and it is evident in all that we do. The support we receive from our community – alumni, parents, grandparents, friends, faculty, staff and students – has helped Bishop Montgomery grow. That support has never been more evident than it is today. Over the last 18 months, we have been blessed to have many alumni join us on Zoom to speak to classes, teams, and clubs, participate in our AlumKnight Speaker Series, and give back in many other ways. Our current and alumni parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and students have joined our alumni in giving back, whether it is with a monetary gift or volunteering their time. Your many gifts are why we are able to continue to move Bishop Montgomery forward.

Thank you for making a lasting impact on Bishop Montgomery and our students. Your many gifts ensure that this community will continue to thrive and continue to be a place for good. Bishop Montgomery is a community of which we can all be proud.

Your gift can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). Please see the IRS website www.irs.gov for any changes in the laws.

Stock
Gifts of appreciated assets such as stock are an excellent way for you to make a charitable gift to Bishop Montgomery.

Stocks may be transferred directly to the Archdiocese for the benefit of Bishop Montgomery. These gifts will not affect your cash flow, and they provide the following tax benefits:

  • A possible charitable deduction to help you save on taxes
  • Bypass of federal and state capital gains taxes
  • Avoidance of the tax on net investment income

From a tax perspective, a gift of appreciated assets makes good sense. You can make the capital gains taxes optional, achieve significant tax savings and support our programs.
